What is Scouting?
The Scout Section is for boys and girls aged between 10½ and 14 years. The Scout Troop is the third section of the scouting family with Explorers and Network taking young people up to age 25. (see our Explorer page for more information.

Scouts are encouraged to take part in a wide range of activities as part of their balanced programme. Scouts take part in activities that help them to find out about the world in which they live, encourages them to know their own abilities and the importance of keeping fit and helps develop their creative talents. It also provides opportunities to explore their own values and personal attitudes

Being outdoors is important and a good portion of the Programme is given over to taking part in both the traditional Scouting skills, such as camping, survival and cooking as well as the wide range of adventurous activities, anything from abseiling to yachting. Our ethos is to involve as many young people as possible with a wide range of skills and abilities but we promise you will learn many things during your time with 1st Warboys Scout Troop.  Our Scout section has visited many part of the UK for weekend camps from Derbyshire to the birthplace of Scouting Brownsea Island. We have helped with conservation projects and taken part in unusual activities such as Dragon Boat Racing.

The international aspect gives Scouting a special appeal and many Scouts can travel abroad during their time in the Section as we have links to the Cromwell Mountain Club and other Local Groups which sometimes offer places on their trips abroad.

Scouting is about being with friends, as part of a team, participating fully in the adventure and opportunities of life. Please contact our Scout Leader or more details of when and where we meet.
